Nature Tours

Wetlands Wonder Tour - Wonder through the wetlands at the St Lucia Estuary.

Departs at 08h00 – Up the North Coast and into Zululand, we arrive at one of South Africa’s World Heritage sites, St. Lucia Estuary. Here we take a 2-hour leisurely boat ride up the Estuary and back viewing hippos, crocodiles and numerous wetland birds like the African Fish Eagle and the Goliath Heron. Marvel at the Mangroves and all the crabs, mudskippers and whelks that we can find there, before having lunch in the picturesque town of St. Lucia. We leave for Durban after lunch to arrive about 17h30. A fish eagle at its lookout point

We will take you to breathtaking locations throughout South Africa to catch a glimpse of our countries unique range of bird species in their natural habitats.

Mountain Meanders - Motor through the midlands enjoying local hospitality.

Departs about 08h30 – A variety of these tours meander through beautiful country depending which route you choose from a comprehensive brochure. But they all follow the same pattern and along each route there are homes and shops to stop at with varying merchandise to offer, e.g. goat’s cheese, glass blowing, woodcarvings, leatherwork, and paintings. At the small towns that we also pass through numerous shops offer a wide variety of products for sale. Lunch at one of the places along the way and we return to Durban at about 17h00. Stay in B&B's and enjoy South African hospitality!

Bush and Estuary Tour - Head to the bush and get back to nature.

Departs at 08h00 – After a couple of hours we arrive at the Gate of the Hluhluwe / Umfolozi Game Park in Zululand. We spend the rest of the day searching out for white rhino and elephant, giraffe, zebra, waterbuck, wildebeest and warthog and many, many others. We also look for birds of prey and vultures!

That evening we have the option to go to a bush camp or the Main Camp and an evening game drive in an open safari vehicle. After an early wake-up and game drive, we depart for St Lucia Estuary. Here we take a

leisurely 2 hour cruise up the Estuary, have lunch in the village and head for Durban to arrive about 18h00.


Bush and Hiking Wild Game Tour - Exercise and enjoy the bush veld

Departs 08h00 – This tour is for those who want to be really close to nature for the next 2 days! We aim for the Hluhluwe / Umfolozi Park in Zululand and book into our own special bush camp.

After settling in, our trained guide will take us on the first of two bush trails lasting about 3 hours. We return to camp for a relaxing evening around a fire while a barbecue supper in the open is prepared for you.

The next morning your guide will lead you on an early morning trail to see

what you can see! Breakfast awaits you on your return. After breakfast we pack up & tour the Park for more Wild Game until our return to Durban in the late afternoon.

Golf, Game and Wetland Tour - A little sport and nature.

This tour starts by traveling south of Durban for the first of 4 golf ‘matches’.

It begins in earnest at the classic Selbourne Park course near Scottburgh; we then move northwards to Zimbali Country Club on the north coast for an experience with a difference. Now its time to relax, so we drive into the Hluhluwe / Umfolozi Game Park for two days of game viewing and relaxation, before taking a trip to the stunning Rocktail Bay for a beach experience with a difference. We then join the local folk for a game of golf at Monzi in the sugar cane area and on the Umfolozi River flats. Here there

Before leaving this area we visit St Lucia Estuary and one of South Africa’s World Heritage Sites. A cruise up the Estuary looking for hippos, crocodiles and some of the wetland birds completes our tour to this area. Our last tour ‘match’ is at the industrial growth area of Richard’s Bay and a round of 18 holes at their picturesque Country Club.

After breakfast the following day we return to Durban at the end of the tour.


'Durban from the Sea' Tour - An offshore experience!

Weather permitting, this to departs 09h00 – we drive to Umhlanga Rocks for a launch at “Granny’s Pool” straight into the Indian Ocean! A rubber dingy will take you beyond the waves for a stunning ride up and down the coast looking back at the City, whilst you also search for dolphins and even whales.

Birds of Prey, 'Raptors in Flight' - Aerial hunters up close!

Departs 08h30 - we visit the site and home of the raptors at the Valley of a 1000 Hills. After a fascinating display, we take a break for some curio and candle shopping, or a cup of coffee nearby. Then we can visit Phezulu for a Zulu dance and singing routine with an opportunity to see some enormous crocodiles and some deadly snakes. An informed guide explains to you all about these amazing reptiles.
